Two weddings in a day… no problem! Made this dress from stretch satin, and I made it reversible! I wore the pink side to the first wedding and the teal side to the second.
The pattern really requires four way stretch fabric, and it runs huge. I first made a dress out of rib knit, and I had to take out 12 inches (not even exaggerating), which means the front and back middle doesn’t really fit right. Knowing this fabric was less stretchy, I only took out ~6-8 inches, but I think I took out a little too much. The front piece is a C shape, and when it’s gathered, there’s no stretch just under the bust. I definitely require a lot of help to get in and out of it.
Moral of the story—if you’re going to do this dress in stretch satin, add a zipper.
