oh this is just beautiful…i wish i could see more views of it though, does it look sort of like the supergirl dress from the front, but with the cape bubbly? i love it!

    Thank you!

    :)

dressdummy, you’ve guessed it right. I’m a big fun of the ‘50 – ’60… there was a short period after New Look and before the Courreges silhouettes, when lines were soft and simple (I guess Balenciaga was the best at that) that I fell in love with.. and when combined with modern fabrics the look sometimes can be something of a “cosmic vintage”.. I love playing with patterns, and can’t wait for the day when I’ll get my very own CAD system. :)

Just as with your “Supergirl” dress, I’m really loving the blush-color fabric with black accent and black shoes. And I love this dress too. The bubble hem and cape make it look so very comfortable, while the fitted bodice and short length make it look pulled together (I could graze the hors d’oeuvres table all evening while still looking and feeling great!). Another comment about the bubble hem and attached cape: it has a late 1950’s/early 1960’s flavor to it that looks chic and vintage, but still fresh.
