Description

This dress was requested by a client. It’s a revamped replica of a Taylor dress from Nordstrom (model photo).
I decided to pleat the skirt rather than gather it, because I thought it would work better with silk dupioni.
Everything else is like the original dress, even the covered buttons and slim bow belt.
I was afraid that the length was going to be short and since I didn’t have any lace to bind the hem, so I decided to use the bagging technique to attach the lining to the skirt.
To create the look, I used two commercial patterns, Bodice: Butterick 5314; Skirt: Butterick 5558 (Size 18).

Material Notes

silk dupioni, zipper, covered buttons
