It is not without incident that this dress was born.
It evolved from half a metre of stunning guipure lace that
came to me in a dream was salvaged from a sea of bargain hunting fabric mongrels at the annual clegs remnant sale on boxing day. A week later I still break out into a sweat and feel phantom pain in my arms (from being constantly elbowed by other fabric enthusists) when ever I see the word ‘Sale’ flash up on my TV screen.
I once again embraced my new found fancy for elastic waists, and thoroughly enjoyed giving my pattern skills a good practise with this self-drafted dress.
This dress was christened ‘The Survivor’ as the lace I purchased from the sale and used on this dress managed to evade the sharpened claws of the other fabric junkies to be united with me and my beating heart.
