I wanted to make a dress for my British Citizenship ceremony, and wanted to use a fabric that fits within the whole blue/red/white union jack colour scheme.
I used a beautiful floral polycotton, and made a view A of Simplicity 1798.
I made a SBA (only slightly), and shortened the skirt by 6cm to adjust for my petite frame.
Other than that, the pattern is perfect. I love its silhouette, and the notched neckline. I had to sew this together in a couple of evenings, but I am really happy with how it’s turned out.

Beautiful dress! The neckline is very unusual, but really suits you. Congratulations on your citizenship! :)
