Finally, finally, finally I made up a wearable muslin of By Hand London’s Anna Dress. Everyone has loved this pattern, but it’s taken me awhile to come around on the silhouette. I normally don’t favor things which cling so to the hipline, but this is one adorable dress.
Using polka dot poplin that has been in my stash for an eon, I sewed a mix between the size 14 and size 16 of this pattern, grading in for the waist and necklines. The fabric isn’t a perfect choice for this pattern, but I do love the retro feel they achieve together. Next time, I’m going to try a floral rayon, which should make the skirt properly swishy.
