I wanted to make a funnel dress for a long time, and the “Kangaroo pocket dress” decided me to give it a try. I didnt have any pattern so I just made it with patience and luck…I guess it’s full of unwanted creases and pleats and other mistakes but it’s ok.
I liked the shape of the pocket openings on the kangaroo one, so i kind of copied it, but decided to make only one pocket. Thought of giving a bit of brightness using yellow fabric but i might change it back to something more neutral in the future…
I put little black press studs on the collar so it can be worn in several ways (straight, folded or pinned).
Looks a bit like a space suit, people think of a penguin because of the colour and shape of the pocket, but i kinda like it. Just gotta think of when to wear it …
Thick cotton remnant (had to make the dress fit into the small piece of fabric i had).
The kangaroo pocket dress for inspiration…
