Tri Cities, Wash...
By following the instructions on Fashion-Era, (http://www.fashion-era.com/Pattern_drafting/pattern_drafting_introduction_skirt2_measuring.htm) I drafted a skirt for my very petite tween-aged niece. She wanted something more grown-up than what was available on the rack.
I put a lining in this skirt which turned out to be a bit tricky. I didn’t watch my seam allowances close enough so it wasn’t quite the right size right off the bat. Due to laziness I did not want to unpick everything and start again so I added pleats and buttons in the front and voila! It turned out even nicer than I had originally planned. Embellishments are always (usually) a good thing. The skirt has an invisible zipper in the back.
