I’m in love in nautical graphic motifs. I received this sailboat printed cotton as a gift – perfect for a summer dress. I wanted to make a fairly simple dress with a straight skirt so that the print would run smoothly around the dress so I chose the Burdastyle 05/2013 Lace Waist Dress Pattern. I didn’t have to alter the pattern much, my only major adjustment was the V-backline with soutache-trim, inspired by a project by Wearing History. The dress has a zipper at the side and of course pockets.
