Description
I made this dress for a challenge on my blog called “12 months + 12 fabrics = 12 garments that I love” this February. The bodice is from a “tall” pattern from Burda Magazine, the skirt and ruffle idea came from the Coffee Date Dress here on Burdastyle. However, I changed the shape of the ruffle and I love how it came out… I think this is going to be one of my favourite summer dresses!
Material Notes
fabric from a shower curtain found on the flea market, white cotton/polyester blend fabric for details

This is my fav CDD! It’s so bright and happy :) The bodice on mine was totally weird fitting, so good on you for using a tried and true bodice!

hehe, yes, it was originally a shower curtain. after washing it for the first time, the impregnation was gone and it looked like a nice solid fabric for a dress. (: and thank you very much!

dankeschön! ich habe den duschvorhang auf einem flohmarkt in leipzig gefunden (nachtflohmarkt). nach einem mal waschen war die imprägnierung verschwunden – was blieb, war ein schöner fester kleiderstoff. (:

Really lovely dress. Very flattering shape. The coffee date dress is indeed an inspiration. I much prefer what you have done with the ruffle and really like the trim. Can’t believe you made it out of a shower curtain! :-)

I REALLY like the modification you made to the ruffle…….falling from the shoulder looks very classy, IMHO!
I just might have to finally make a dress like this!

i also had the pattern lying around for a while and i had attempted to make it before but since i don’t have a big bust the bodice didn’t fit me. now that i’ve added a bodice with princess seams instead of darts it fits me perfectly! (:
