Burda 2/2011 nr 101
I got the fabric really cheap from a thrift shop. It sat there in the corner basket and waited the right pattern to come.
Ony the bodice is lined because i ran out of fabric for it and could’nt find the right kind in thrift shops. What I am most proud of is that i learned to understich, a secret someone reveled here in Burdastyle writing a post on a dress. Thank you Anonymous! You saved me! It makes a huge difference .
It has an inisible zipper on the side. As well as pockets. Which i sewed on and off three times and even then they tend to be a little lower than i would like to. But since its meant to be a practise dress and of a cheap material i decided to leave it to that.
I originally wanted to apply two rows of a thinner red stripes but failed to find the right kind settled just for one. Unfortunately there was not enought for a proper bow. Though its a lovely little bow i imagined it to be a bit longer. The bottom stripe is attached with two rows of stitching.
The dress will probably come with me to US next week because it just loks like it belongs there :)
