12/2011 blouse with bow #119 . I was curious about the tall sizing. I’m in between, not super tall but taller than average. The construction was quick despite the front pattern piece looking so foreign to me. Once I sewed the first seam, I could see how it all fit together. I could not, however, find the tie extension piece on the pattern sheet (I traced from the magazine) so this is the length of the bow without it. It doesn’t reach around and tie in the back like the line drawings show. I used a drapey rayon so my bow is a little floppy. Not completely sold on the silhouette, especially from the side, but there is definitely something fun about it. The neckline is super deep, which I knew it would be, so it’s hastily basted closed about four inches in the photos of me wearing it. It’s unaltered on the dressform. I’m debating whether I should properly raise the neckline or just wear it with a camisole underneath.

Rayon? I think. It was thrifted.

Lovely. And I think it’s very flattering on you. Definitely keep the deep V and wear a cami. Nice job!

This is lovely! I was eyeing this project in the magazine too, but didn’t have the guts to start. I can’t understand thedescription yet… Great job!

Thanks! I was nervous about how it would all fit together, but the instructions were pretty good. Once you sew the front center seam it’s pretty apparent how it all fits together. Only thing I had trouble with was finding that dang extension piece!

So cute! I would wear it with a camisole, because if you wear it closed, it breaks the lines of the pattern and I think it’s less harmonious. The bow looks useless, whereas with the neckline not overlapping, it seems more logical (even if it doesn’t have the function to close the blouse) … I don’t know if I’m understandable ^^ Anyway, good job! I’d like to try it too, but I’m a petite size, so… Don’t konw what changes need to be done.

Thanks so much! And I totally agree with you. The bow looks out of place with it closed up higher.

I like it! I didn’t really notice the pattern in the magazine, but your version is charming :-)
