Description

This is actually not my own design, it’s a copy of a shrug I got a few years ago at one of the big highstreet clothing chains. It’s quite a clever design though!

The pattern is basically a T, and there are only two seams. It folds perfectly flat, and it’s actually a nice shrug too!

I’ve graded the pattern to fit size 30-46, see the size-chart on the pattern and in the instructions to be sure about the size (it’s slightly different from the Burdastyle size chart).

Material Notes

Cotton jersey, a GENUINE 1980’s fabric that I got in the early 90’s, left at my parents place when I moved out, and then forgot about. My mum gave it to me this easter and it’s actually back in fashion again!
I love the colour and it’s very comfortable to wear.

The best thing? I’ve got a few meters of it…. :-)

Am I missing something? Where does it tell me how much material I will need?

Very frustrated. Trying to download the pattern so I can piece it together but all I get are the instructions. I know the pattern PDF exists as I was able to access it but didn’t print it. I now have about 8 copies of the download in my library but can’t find the pattern PDF on any of them. What am I doing wrong?

Has anyone tried this in stretch lace for an evening cover-up? (like Giselle stretch lace from fabric.com). I may give it a go.

I cannot figure out how to print the pattern to normal size and two print shops can’t figure it out either. :( Were you able to print it?

Hey, does it really need to be a stretchy fabric? I have this perfect absolutely no-no-strech-at-all that I’d like to turn into a shrug

Yes, I think it does. The sleeves will turn out too tight in a woven fabric, but if you tweak the pattern a bit it might work. Good luck!

Hey a friend of mine used your pattern to make her shrug, but I can’t print out the measurements on p.2, what is it for size 10 USA? :D

I love this, I’m going to try to crochet one. I have no jersey in my fabric stash, but crochet or knit right, it should have enough stretch. Thank you for sharing this perfect pattern.

I actually have a crochet pattern that turns out identical to the one in the pic if you’d like it. I found it online and am in the middle of making it…so far, so good!!!

I would love a link to the crochet pattern. I’ve already started trying to re-create it, but a pattern would be good to compare what I’m doing to what I should be doing.

I also saw a cute crochet pattern for a shrug on fabric.com in the free pattern section. So gorgeous if only I could crochet………….

Yey, make one and upload (it takes an hour at the most, including preparing the pattern)! I’d love to see it if you do make one (in combination with your dresses of course). Btw, I’m off to Bergen this week, if I see you from a distance this time too I must say hi :-)!

Very pretty! for some reason it impossible to leave a comment on your home page feature I can imagine a knitted version of it, that would be pretty straightforward!

Ah! Of course, that’s like the obvious idea for a beginner knitter like me, I knit scarves only. A square piece for a shrug would be the perfect step two (I have made mittens before). Thanks for mentioning it, I didn’t think of it myself.
Strange with the comments, it looks perfectly normal. Hm.

      Yeah you should!
I meant leaving a comment on the project of the week page which redirect straight to your studio… never noticed this before
