I joined in on the Colette sewalong action hosted by Rhinestones and Telephones, and Miss Crayola Creepy. First up out of the book was the Meringue skirt.
Upon whipping up my toile, I found that whilst I liked the skirt, I wasn’t really a huge fan of it on me. So I made a few changes! I still have a skirt with scallops, but that’s about where the similarity ends.
My fabric choices were inspired by the Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 RTW collection. I’m not normally a fan but I loved the fabrics used and the colours too! (The third picture shown here is of this collection via style.com).

BTW, I do love your interpretation here! The skirt in the Colette book is not really for me, either. And lavender is one of my favorites!
