Description

When my 16 year old niece noticed the walker bag I made for my mother, she requested a small handbag to go mall shopping. Being an American, she is fascinated by European emblems and wanted a bag with a European flare. She told me what her favorite colors were and gave me the challenge to create a bag.

I found some great fabric at ‘Stoffen Spectakel’ and worked my creation and European theme around the fabric. Since my daughter was going to Paris, I asked her to pick up a tourist key chain to hang on the theme bag, figuring young girls love these kinds of symbols. I machine embroidered the word ‘Paris’ on the bag as I wanted to use my the ‘fancy’ stitches on my Bernina.

The bag has a zipped back pocket. The handbag has an inside pocket for her cell phone and a pen.

Material Notes

Woven cotton fabric with a heavy interfacing for strength and support.
