Description

I drafted a skirt block using the book Metric Pattern Cutting for Women’s Wear by Winifred Aldrich and made up a skirt from it using cotton broadcloth that I painted with Pebeo Fabric paints.

Being a cell and molecular biologist everything I work on is at a micro/ nano level but I started University with a love for Botany, particularly plant illustrations – so the plants I painted onto this skirt are all wild flowers.

I wore this skirt to work once and a colleague saw it and went, “Why is your skirt covered with weeds?”
