I don’t typically sew out of season, but a recent trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico had me crafting shorts in February, and I’m glad I did! I had some fabric I recently got for free and I had just enough of this grey linen-cotton blend to make some Simplicity 7688 shorts. The pattern is from 1967, and just a breeze to throw together.
I added two inches to the hem of the shorts, but otherwise made no changes. Perfect for the Caribbean sun!
They wrinkle like hell in photos (and, of course, real life). Oh, well, that can you do?
cotton linen blend (I think?), thrifted plastic zipper, metal snaps, polyester thread.
