I just finished this dress and coincidentally it is the pattern of the week. Not very complicated to make, but a lot to modify. The straps were too wide apart so I had to reduce the width of the front and back pieces, and re-cut the facings because they didn’t fit anymore. I would advise to cut the facings after constructing and fitting the top part. The front was gaping a little, but a little dart at the cleavage fixed that. It is out of sight, under the little bow.
From the picture of the finished dress in the magazine and comments of other people making this dress (and my own experience) I realized that the bra straps keep on peeping out at you. I added some embellishment to the dress to prevent that. I got the idea from a dress Robin wore in “How I met your mother” (Vogue 1190).
