Based on my Pirate Gown pattern, this historically inspired outfit is for Live Action Role Play events and is designed to be worn with modern underwear rather than stays. It is styles after a Tudor Kirtle, with the addition of shoulder tabs and detachable sleeves.
It will be worn over an Elizabethan shirt.
The fabric is a polycotton jacquard fabric, washed to give it the shabby chic look and to soften it. The braid is a polyester and metallic mix of gold on navy blue.

Thank you. I’m moderately pleased with it – especially considering the vast sums I paid for the fabric and bling! ;)

You’re more than welcome! ;-) I am happy to hear you were pleased with the outcome! (P.S. Sorry about the “mess” of a sentence I made in the previous comment! :-))

It made perfect sense to me, love! :D
The fabric was £1 a meter, the trim about 50p! :O

With pointy-toed boots, I hope!
Thank you.

Actually, I would pair the dress with “cow mouth shoes”… the dress is early renaissance, so pointy-toed shoes would be out of fashion…

But fun!
I have these to wear with them: http://assets.clarksmcr.com/products/2/0/3/20342881_A_p.jpg
And a couple of blunt-toed leather Mary Janes. The black ones are Bootleg kids shoes from a few years back, and the red ones are a pair of Lands’ End ones.
