This is another dress inspired by a tv show, in this case a dress that Ashley Judd wore on “Missing”. I was going on holiday and I needed a long summer dress and it was love at first sight. Making it was more difficult though as I couldn’t find better pictures of the dress on line. It’s supposed to be an Alberta Ferretti dress.
I wouldn’t know how to describe the construction of it as I did a lot of basting and a lot of taking everything apart until it fit just right. The top is made of four pieces and the skirt of a rectangle taken in at the waist at the sides. I inserted elastic at the waist and found cute metallic beads for a “necklace” that will keep the front pieces apart.
The fabric is very silky, difficult to work with, but I doubt it is silk. Very light and summery dress.
