I made this as a christmas present for my baby niece. It is, as my previous stuffed cat attempts, based on the pattern from “Doll Making by Runo”.
Because of a little bad planning, I didn’t have any normal “fluffy” stuffing at hand when I made this cat. My mother had some leftovers from a new foam rubber mattress which had been cut to fit into a child’s bed, so I made a kind of stuffing by cutting the foam rubber into small pieces. Therefore, the cat is a little more lumpy than if I had used normal stuffing – but then again, they say that it’s healthy for babies to feel different textures, so I guess the lumps are OK. :-)
The Norwegian winter is especially cold this year, hence the hat (with a little bit of foam rubber in it to keep it up) and scarf…
Cotton, denim for the ears and tail, thick cotton thread for embroidering the face, foam rubber stuffing
