I made this for a friend as a trade for some graphic design/web work. It’s made of silk lining and silk charmeuse (eek!) from a vintage 50’s pattern. It was my first time sewing with such delicate fabric, so I had to take my time. But I’m happy with it, and I think she is too!
I used some couture techniques, like French seams for finishing the edges. I also made a cummerbund so she can wear it with our without.
More silk-savvy tidbits I gleaned on my blog Daughter Fish
