Inspired by 1960’s silhouettes and Pop Art colors

The 1960s featured a number of diverse trends. It was a decade that broke many fashion traditions, mirroring social movements during the period.
The 1960s are commonly only noted for go-go boots and plastic mod extremisms. I wanted to reference the day dress fashions of the 60s while mixing multiple white and black silk woven fabrics (herringbone, hounds tooth, diagonal stripes) to create unique garments and visual interest, with a mass production feel like that of pop art movement; adding vivid solid colors to stand out against the black & white and pay tribute to my favorite 1960s artists, Roy Lichtenstein, Jim Dine and Mel Ramos, to name a few.
