Okay, so this is my first attempt at a real project and I’m a little nervous – I’ve made bits and bobs in the past, the odd skirt etc, but this is my first real project – pattern from the Katjusha Dress.

Hi Abby This is my first attempt at making this dress. I had to resize it for plus size which was extremely difficult for me. I finally got all the pieces sized right and cut. The problem I’m having is sewing the bodice. It looks soooo difficult that I’ve put the project aside for a day….lol. There aren’t any instructions on how to start it and align the front panel with the front sides….bummer for me. Any suggestions? Please help,,,,thank you sooo much.

Thank you! Yes, I’m making another dress in the same style at the moment and hoping to improve where I went wrong last time. Hopefully the stress will be worth it again! :)

How on earth could you be nervous posting this absolutely lovely dress, you’ve produced an amazing piece, especially for a first attempt. My eye was drawn immediately to my favourite ‘spotty dotty’ fabric. I hope you feel a million pounds wherever you wear this dress.

Thank you – this is the first piece I’ve done from a pattern and not given up on! I’m doing it again at the moment, but changing bits as I go and finding easier ways of doing it than before, a long way to go yet :)
