This one was a doozy. My first jacket! My first underlining! My first bagged lining! My second attempt at bound buttonholes! That last one didn’t go all that well. BUT the rest of it I love!
The pattern is Simplicity 4494, a 1940’s Pattern. The fabric is Irish linen burlap, underlined with black cotton and lined with white and blue striped vintage shirting cotton. I wouldn’t say this was super hard, no padstitching the collar because it’s collarless, no shoulder pads because I have enormous shoulders, but I tried to take my time and enjoy the process.
I adore the princess seams, by the way, so flattering.
