At the beginning of summer I found a piece of amazing tropical print fabric at a local church fete. I held onto it for most of the season, hoping to transform it into the perfect summer outfit, which I have recently completed!
This is my twist on the simple and classy Denim Pinafore by Angela Kane. Perfect for spontaneous trips to tropical islands and daydreaming in deck chairs whilst drinking Mai Tais adorned with cocktail umbrellas.
I accessoried it with a vibrant belt and matching shoes, and chunky wooden jungle jewellery.

Hi Jetsetter. I love your project – fabulous print. Thank you for making up my pattern and for the credit. Your coordinated accessories give this simple design real impact.

In return you can tell me how to make a ‘Mai Tais’. Cocktail parties are my thing at the moment – such a good excuse to dress up.

Thank you Angela! I’m flattered. Sending through an email now. x
P.S. The perfect Mai Tai recipe:
45ml rum
30ml hazelnut liquer
22ml triple sec
30ml pineapple juice
30ml sweet and sour mix
Blend all ingredients with 90g ice until smooth. Pour into a hurricane glass and top with cocktail umbrella and mermaid-shaped swizzle stick.
Enjoy!
