Description

This is the reprinted Simplicity 3688 pattern, a fancyish top from the 1940’s. I must say it was a wonderful pattern. Simple, clean, and easy, thank goodness. Kinda bookwormy in design is the long sleeves and high collar, so I took in the pleats to make it a teensy bit sexy, and the closure in the back is like a little secret flash of skin. The satin is the Casa satin from Joann’s, and it’s positively a dream, minus the fraying. Oh yeah, I met Olympic gold medalist Dan Jansen in it, too!

Casa Satin, pearl button

I love it. I love the color and fabric. Though I usually stay away from artificial fabrics, Seeing your creation I see I have a reason not to. The color is wonderful and the design is so feminine and unique. Refreshing.

I love the way you retouched this blouse, and the color is just marvelous. Also: major hair envy.

I am sorry, but I fell for the fabric! :-) Is it Casa satin in Cranberry or Raspberry? I promise I will use only the fabric and not your creation!!! :-)

It’s actually the Eggplant! The color really resonates when it’s on, and it may seem a little darker in person, but it is always lovely.

This is just beautiful! It really looks awesome! Cool that it is based on a 40’s pattern! Just proves how things always come back, it’s just a matter of time… :)
