i love how the peplum stands up in your version. i don’t like the peplum to be floppy. what is the fabric made of that you used?

Thank you!
It is called ponte knit or ponte di roma or doubleknit (if I am not mistaken). Mine is relatively thick and it should be polyester with elastan.

thank you! did you line your version or not?
Nov 12, 2012, 04.28 PMby zoaki
No, I did not, the fabric is quite thick, I didn´t want it to be even thicker for summer, plus it is not see-through, so I really didn´t see the need for a lining.

So nice! I want to try this for myself, but I am 6ft tall so adjusting the patterns gets a little tricky! This looks great on you!

Thanks! I don’t think it will be tricky – I managed to do it with one Burda pattern for shorter people. I have a sewing book that shows the process step by step, but I am sure you can find this information online as well. The peplum top pattern is simple, so I think you will manage without much trouble (I guess you would have to add a bit of height on the chest and a bit somewhere in the middle of the darts). Good luck!

I just love your version – the color, sleeveless and belted. You look so good in it. Now it’s on my must-do list but don’t know how it’ll look on a 5’1" frame. Lol!

Peplums are extremely flattering and show off your figurre to advantage. The contrast between soft pink and black makes for a striking outfit.

Thanks! If you noticed, the black fabric has a slightly glossy alligator print on it, I thought it makes even a stronger contrast between the top and skirt.
