For my Clothing Construction 1 class our final assignment is to make a jacket. I usually don’t wear jackets so I told my mom that I would make this piece of clothing for her. So I used Simplicity 2311 for the coat pattern. Since the coat is for my mom I let her pick out everything and just told her what I needed. She chose a cute black and white houndstooth wool blend and some pretty black buttons. This was my first time ever making a coat, and there were a few times I was confused but in the end it turned out great. There were a few tough times too because the fabric is so thick and tried to give me problems. I also added cuffs onto the ends of the sleeves and added matching buttons.
