I made this jacket for the RTW Contest in the Pattern Review site. The idea was to copy an already made garment (or be inspired by one), I was inspired by a jacket worn by Karla in Karla’s Closet and I decided to copy it. The process was pretty long (I even made a muslin!). The original jacket sports princess seams, a peter pan collar and godets along the bottom hem. I incorporated all these elements in my jacket (I drafted the pattern myself) and added embellishments in the godets and the collar as in the original and added few more rows of embellishment at the sleeves as well (it got kind of got addicting at some point). I put a lot of thought into the details (I even made bound buttonholes), and I’m really proud of the jacket (even though there are still things I would change, as always!)
If you like the jacket and would like to vote for it in the RTW Contest you can click here (THANK YOU!)
