The Foliaceous Flirt

Gloucester, Unit...

I made this corset for a Wearable Art parade near me, and only had a couple of weeks to finish it! It’s the first time I’ve ever made a corset or used boning, but am pretty pleased with the effect.
There are over 50 embroidered leaves in the whole outfit, which mounts to a lot of work and hand-stitching.

Thank you! I used Simplicity misses lingerie 5006, however the pattern had no sturdiness at all! I had to interface and line the corset, and also sew in some bra cups otherwise it would have just crumpled. Nice easy pattern though.

The gold thread makes such a difference on the leaves! I love them around the cleavage line!

Thank you for your comment! No, all the fabric I used was just cotton, however instead of a plain colour, it had a textured look. That may be why it looks a little like velvet :)

That is an absolutely amazing thing you’ve done there! I’ve never made a corset myself and looking at your’s has certainly inspired me. Its made really well and looks beautiful!
