This blouse is a lot of firsts for me! First vintage pattern, first time re-sizing a pattern, first time trying to match stripes….I’m glad I picked such a simple design! Because otherwise, I think it would have been nervous breakdown time. As it is, I’m actually quite proud of this blouse! It’s a super simple shape, but I think it’s pretty flattering, especially to people with curves. I plan on making this puppy again in several incarnations. Let’s see how that goes, shall we?
The pattern is Butterick 7490, which is fairly simple to put together. I sort of said screw it to the seam binding, but that’s a whole other story….

Very nice top. Looks comfy and cool. You did a nice job lining up the stripes, takes patience. Can’t wait to see more. Happy Sewing! (Oh and if you want a really nice top for summer you should try Collette’s Sorbetto, it is really easy to make and it is a free download on this site)
