Description

This was the first dress I ever made! I’m very happy with the result: the different look and the freedom of movements it allows. I used a Polyester fabric with a silky touch (I have no idea of its proper name). Following the instructions, it took me quite a while to put the numerous pieces of A4 paper together, but once done, I found it rather simple to cut and sew it. The dress came out a bit too large on the waist (probably due to inaccurate cutting) so I used a black strip of fabric as a belt – it corrected the problem and gave a nice shape to my waist line!

Material Notes

Polyester with a ‘silky touch’.

Hi. I recently bought this dress and was wondering what pattern pieces 3, 4 & 5 are for. Do you know? Also, did you put in a zipper? Thanks!

hey, I’m not very active on the website recently…I just saw your message! (If you haven’t figure out yet) I think those pieces are for another version of the same dress – with long sleeves. I did not put a zipper on it but, when I first tried it, I realised I needed a belt! Hope this helps.

I never would’ve looked twice at that pattern if it weren’t for you posting your try at it! Looks so comfortable and effortlessly stylish.

That’s a very nice first project. I like the save with the black belt. Your furry friend is an adorable accessory, as well!

hi ellen, I’m sorry, I marked your last comment as inappropriate!!! I didn’t mean it and now don’t know how to cancel it… Please forgive the gaffe! I saw your dress based on the same pattern, it looks beautiful! I was impressed with your skills, joining the two fabrics in a geometric cut, so precise on the details. Very fine work! Cheers
