(sorry for the lousy pictures)
This is a dress that I made for Christmas last year. I chose it as my Christmas dress because the bust makes me think of a giant bow. The pattern is Simplicity New Look 6699, with self-drafted skirt.
The skirt isn’t a full circle skirt, but it’s as close as I could get with the fabric I had left. (I didn’t buy enough! D= )
I call this the feel-better dress because it’s what I pull out to wear when a sewing project goes wrong, or I’m feeling low-self-esteem. I rock this dress, and I made it. Booyah.
Quilting cottn, and i need to line it, because as it is, it tends to cling to any tights I wear underneath it. The pattern on the fabric has little shooting stars, so I wear this dress on the Fourth of July, too. Then I don’t freeze to death, like I did last Christmas.
The color is more accurate in the first picture, but you can see the pattern better in the second.
