Pink and cream plaid shorts with zip and button fly, belt loops, front slash pockets and rear western-style pointed pocket flaps with one patch pocket on the right side. Front pockets are lined with cream-coloured batiste to reduce bulk. This is a self-made pattern for my partner based on a favourite pair of shorts. These have rapidly become her favourites, and the pattern is now my go-to for her. I can’t find a photo of her wearing these (I’m surprised), or that shows the colour better, but I’ll add one when I get one taken. They make her rear-end look great! ;)
Cotton-twill, perhaps? Something sturdy, bought last summer specifically for this purpose. I almost never use fabric for what I actually bought it planning to do! Notions: thread, interfacing, button, and a metal fly zip.
