It is, without doubt, the easiest project I made.
However, a bit awkward having to sew together the two ends…
The kurt is stretchable an doe snot require any zips, hooks, or aids. Hurray!
In fact, it is a 100% handmade skirt, since I did not have to use the sewing machine at all.

I read your post, Mary, I know it’s hard. I did remove the sequins on the margin, did a zig-zag with the machine for overlocking (needle was fine). When I tried to stitch through, it snapped at the first attempt. I then finished it by hand.

It looks really lovely. I’ve got some similar fabric keep meaning to make something with but haven’t been able to sum up the effort to remove all the sequins from the seam edges as yet. I guess if I hand sewed it like you I could avoid having to do that bit :-)

Oh yeas, I tried to remove the sequins and I ended up destroying the margins, although I made some knots as I went along.
I wonder if there is a special super-machine to go through everything without effort :-)

Shame it is so hard to work with it! The moment I tried to use the machine, the needle snapped. I gave up and used my own hands :-) My worry is that the stitch might start to show gaps if it is stretched too much!!!

I made a dress out of this fabric and you can see how I got on as i posted it. I did some hand sewing.but.iostly.machine sewed. I.used a vintage machine as they can normally cope with everything? Wrong.lol. I broke that many needles but i love the dress so i.m doing a long sleeved version. I must be mad lol x
