Well, I called this one the Eco skirt, because it is made of naturally-dyed, organic cotton I bought in a shop in Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg. The colour is a bit eco indeed, but I like it very much. I wish there was more fabric like that available, but it still is rare and – of course – expensive…
I made the skirt without a pattern. I sewed a yoke the rest is a simple rectangle of fabric that I gathered and sewed onto the yoke. As I had some fabric left, I made a kind of belt that is fastened on one side, on the other side I tie a knot. I’m still practising to tie it more decorative…

Thank you all! I’m glad to get so much response to the eco topic. I think it’s something that people are going to become more and more aware of. I’m thinking about making a howto for the skirt. It really wasn’t difficult to make and the result more or less came out by trial and error. So, you’ll hear from me soon…

your skirt is beau-mous!
the shops where i live have the organic cotton/linen/hemp fabrics for sale all the time, but again, their 2x, 3x, & 4x, respectivley, the price of regular fabric. & yeah, its really too much for a student.

It would be nice if organic fabrics were more readily available, wouldn’t it? Love this skirt—the kind of earthy look to it, both color and style-wise, fits the whole eco-vibe perfectly.

Great skirt and the fabric is fantastic!

Great skirt! The whole outfit is cool! I was also searching for organic fabrics, but they were thrice the price of “normal” fabrics and that is too expensive for a student a like me :(

This is so pretty! I like the color and texture of the fabric, as well as the simplicity in the design.
