This apparently simple dress drove me crazy! The skirt and pockets are from a 1940s pattern, and I pattern made the top part to my measurements on a dress making dummy. At least i have the pattern now, so wont need to invent the wheel eavh time. I think it would be a better fir with a bit of stretch in the fabric though.

Pretty dress! The pockets and belt are fabulous.
Congratulations on getting it done. I’ve bailed on more than a few projects that got too maddening.

Very nice! I really like the pockets with the belt going through, and I would say the fit is good. I’m thinking that the bodice should be a little bit more fitted if you use stretch fabric, but for this cotton the pleats works really good.
