I love this dress now that it’s finished, but sewing it was a nightmare from start to finish. It’s not a very ‘polished’ garment as a result of disasters and sheer inexperience on my part… but I do love it.
It’s part of my Fall Palette Challenge for Collette patterns (I’m sewing for Spring/ Summer), inspired by a dress on modcloth, a pattern drafted by myself and the product of a lot of blood, sweat and tears (literally on the last one – this dress made me cry twice while sewing it). Named the ‘demon dress’ for the hell of a time it gave me!

Striped knit. It’s Karen Walker fabric and a good, firm knit. BUT it has a tendency to wiggle and curl on itself while cutting and sewing – I’m sure the label’s Machinists cursed it as much as I did! And some 1" wide elastic for the waist
