The book is the 3rd in The Pink Carnation Series, and they inspired the bloomers(along with Madeline Pattern). The bloomers are made out of an old flannel sheet that was full of holes. They too like their predecessor match the heroines spirt. As the heroine would not through out something that was still useful but they would be remade into something pretty. The story is spilt between modern day and when the french revolution took place, where a batch of female spies all raise havoc and generally save the day :) I would recommend this book to anyone and ditto with the pattern.
