This melton wool cape coat was made last winter, when I was in the throes of an avant garde kick. I love the dramatic stand up collar and the flared hem (made more flared with the addition of horsehair braid). It makes me look like a diva, and it’s certainly not practical (why did I think winter white, short sleeves and limited arm mobility would be a good idea?!?!) but who wants to sew boring, wearable clothes when you can sew crazy ‘designed’ items you can’t buy anywhere on the high street?
The coat was made using Vogue 8776.
Melton wool, horsehair braid, snaps.
