I made this almost a year ago and wore it for Christmas but somehow I never got around to posting it… It’s made out of grey cotton blend with a drawsting waist and red buttons. Originally, I used a really nice dark red lace ribbon for the waist but it stained the fabric so I had to change it to something more useful.
I got the idea of using pleats at the bottom and around the shoulders from some dress I saw here on Burdastyle but I can’t remember who made it, so if you recognize it I’ll give you the credits!
I didn’t use a pattern, I only used the measurements of an old dress to get the bodice right.

Really love it. The button loops are perfect.
Was this the pleated skirt? http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/penelope-full-circle-skirt

Thank you!
You know what, that was not the skirt I was thinking about but someone else has really good taste in clothing, I guess :)

Red buttons on light grey equals love. The contrast is divine.
