Description

So… a bit over a year ago I cut up my mother’s curtains to make my second ever dress! It was fun! (First one’s here on my blog: The Colour Blocking 101-Dress )

I absolutely adore this pattern, but I made a few changes anyway:

1) a shorter skirt
2) French seams
3) crochet lace <3
4) cut out back with mushroom-fabric-covered buttons
5) no facing around the neckline – only around the cut out in the back
6) almost-sweetheart neckline

If you’re interested, there are a few more pictures in my brandspanking new blog !!

Material Notes

My mother’s cotton curtain (red), cotton mushroom fabric, crochet lace, a zipper, two buttons

Klasse Teil. Die Danielle steht schon so lange auf meiner To-Do-Listem aber irgendwie habe ich noch nicht den richtigen Stoff gefunden. Schade, dass meine Mutter nur Jalousien hat ;-)

I love your version! :) Especially the back. Perhaps I’ll give it a try, too.

This is one of my favourite Burda patterns and you make it even better! Love your alterations and the cheeky mushroom fabric trimmings!

Very nice! It’s quite courageous to make so many alterations I think, but it worked out well!

Nice dress. I like it how you teamed it up. Has your mum got many curtains left after you get your hands on them lol:-D

Thanks! Haha, her new curtains are beige… I wonder if the fact that I hate wearing beige has anything to do with her choice ;-)

Thank you! The back was a spur-of-the-moment idea. I felt so brave, cutting into a finished dress :) Thanks!
