Description

The Monthly Stitch collective’s August challenge is Capes. I managed to get in just in time with this one.
I was limited by having to sew from my stash, so when I found this khaki suiting I thought it would be perfect for a Military style cape.
I based it on this Burda pattern and added button tabs to give it more of a military look.
I didn’t follow the instructions well, so had some trouble with the neck and it ended up a bit uneven!

Your cape turned out really well, I have done the same pattern but the shoulders on mine make me look like frankenstein’s monster. Like your button detail and the fabric you used, I used an old heavy weight wool blanket and it just doesn’t look right. and the pattern must be for someone 6ft
