I’m guilty of not buying presents when I can make them…it’s true and my nephew’s first b-day was not going to be the exception, I wanted to make him something that he would enjoy, 3 days away from the birthday and I still didn’t know what to do, so I was looking here for some children projects and I saw this project from Pipoulou and a tiny light bulb upon my head was ON! He likes jungle animals so brainstorming started there. The result: here is his present A BABY PROOF BOOK!
Made in felt and 100% hand sewn. I really enjoyed making it, and the parents and the baby loved it. YEI!!!
Other parents in the party asked me to make some girly books ;)
Every single thing on it is sewn so he can’t rip it easily and take it to his mouth, that also makes it washable :)
I must say that I’m very very proud of this project!
I wanted a much more fun and playful cover, but gosh time was stepping my toes, I never came with a clear idea of that amazing picture in my head :/
I know it could have had a better finishing, but I had no time to think in pretty, I finished it about 3 hours before the party.
Originally I planned writing the animal’s names both in Spanish and English, unfortunately space wasn’t enough.
Even before starting with this one, I already had a farm in mind (it would be so cute!!)
Felt, thread, hair band for the closure, lots of love, creativity and patience
