I FINALLY finished this piece. I’d tried once before, but ended up scrapping it. But this time around, I really enjoy it. The hidden zipper is so cool. And I shortened it at least 6 inches right off (last time it reached about mid shin, EW). Got a retro feel with the red pockets and buttons. Yum.

I like this outfit and the colour scheme is striking. Buttons seem to feature a lot in clothing that I have seen in the stores in the UK. Of course adding buttons could also " pep up" an old outfit too — maybe something to do with the recession ??

i really like the red detail!! i bough a similar style skirt from h & m but it came with gold buttons (eurgh) so i switched them out for navy!!
