this makes 60 projects in my burdastyle studio, i cannot believe it!!!
also in my unbelievable column, i made this dress in two. hours. TWO HOURS! i was so puffed up about it, i cut another one out the next day— forgetting that cotton voile and silk do not behave the same as stretch jersey.
FEH.
a diagram about how i hacked the azalea pattern, plus more pics & more story at oonaballoona: girl power
stretch jersey, lace & braided trim. i raided my stash and just kept throwing things together on the table till i liked the mix.

It is beautiful and unbievable that it came together in 2 hours! In the pictures it is difficult to tell if that braided trim has purple in it. Does it?

this was the first time i really used trim as a major detail— went crazy in the garment district shortly thereafter, now i want to add detail to EVERYTHING. this could get scary.

as i sewed, i thought it’d be a train wreck or my favorite dress. i’m eyeing it lovingly right now so i guess it’s door number two.
