Inspired by Betty Draper (isn’t everyone nowadays?) I made this dress to wear to a summer wedding. I underlined the whole thing with silk organza, which was quite an experience (but worth it – the dress has a lovely rustle from the silk and nice body!) I used Vintage Vogue 2960, and found it quite nice, except for how I’m not going to be wearing a girdle (I had to go out 2 whole sizes in the waist to make it fit!) It’s also quite a bit shorter – the 50s length doesn’t work on me. My blog entry for this project is here.
Brushed cotton, possibly for sheets. I adore this print – it makes me think of garden parties!
Hit the city streets in adventurous looks with utilitarian details like cargo pockets and belts.
Twists on feminine classics, like a bold patterned shift dress and pants with a racing stripe.
