Burda Style For people who sew
Description
I am going to make a wedding dress for my soon-to-be sister in law. We are right now trying to find out what exactly she wants and to try some things out, I bought two bedclothes and some very cheap sheer fabric yesterday and pinned it onto my dressform. Et voilà!
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to pin some fabric onto my sister in law. That would be easy! :-)

Great idea! I made my daughter’s wedding dress that way. I couldn’t find a pattern we liked so I cut out fabric and molded it to her basically. I draped her in fabric and cut the pieces out on her body. I then used those pieces as a pattern. By doing that it allowed me to nip and tuck where needed. The dress fit perfectly and was really beautiful if I do say so myself. Good luck with your dress

Thank you eberybody. I’ll post the final result (or at least something sewn together), too. Could take a little while though (the wedding is only in July).

that is so awesome, if she likes it you could so sew it together just like that with her measurements!!!!! when you say bedclothes what do you mean???

Thank you. I think she will like it but we will certainly try some more variations. Sorry, I meant bed sheets! Made of very soft cotton (very cheap alternative to buying cotton fabric)
