Description

This is my second version of Megan Nielsens Kelly skirt. I bought the fabric a couple of years ago after seeing the two-tone kelly skirt by thisblogisnotforyou. Somehow I didn’t get around to sewing it up!
Today, however, I felt the need to sew something simple, something that wouldn’t require a muslin. Going trough my pattern stash I saw this pattern and remembered the two forgotten denim fabrics and decided this would be my perfect project of the day. Said and done!
I’m so happy with this version. The two colors makes it fun, love the pockets and I do really like that the buttons are black (have to admit I went with black because that’s what I had on hand, turned out great though). All topstitching is in burgundy, even on the waistband. I also did double rows of topstitching on the pockets because I really like that look. Wish I had used topstitching thread though, that would have popped out a bit more but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have been able to find the right shade so I just went with regular.
